About the book:

There are many ways to describe personality in psychology and psychotherapy. However, Nossrat Peseschkian, the founder of Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy (1977), did it in a very original way. Based on extensive transcultural research, he formulated a list of so-called actual capabilities — cultural or social values that a person relies on in everyday life. Every person on the planet has actual capabilities, but their significance and development are different for each person. This is what makes up a person’s personality. This book describes these actual capabilities in detail and explains how they are developed, present in everyday life, involved in our conflicts and problems, and so on. Understanding actual capabilities allows us to look at ourselves, our relationships with others, conflicts and contradictions in a new way. This, in turn, makes it possible to consciously make the necessary adjustments in one’s life and make it easier. In other words, it allows you to become a psychotherapist for yourself and your environment.
