ABOUT THE JOURNAL
The Global Psychotherapist (JGP) is the official international journal of the World Association for Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy (WAPP). Launched in 2022, it serves as a global platform for researchers, practitioners, trainers and supervisors working within the Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy framework.
Mission and Scope The journal’s mission is to support the scientific development of Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy and to provide a transparent, high-quality platform for publishing academically rigorous and professionally relevant work. We welcome manuscripts that contribute to the theoretical foundations, clinical practice, research applications, training methodology, supervision and transcultural aspects of the method.
The journal is structured in two clearly distinguished parts:
- Indexed Research Section — fully peer-reviewed scholarly articles (double-blind review).
- Professional & Editorial Section — non-peer-reviewed professional reflections, interviews, book reviews and community-oriented materials (explicitly labeled “Non-Indexed / Non-Peer-Reviewed”).

- Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0)
- No mandatory article processing charges
- Optional technical formatting assistance (€50, only after acceptance and does not influence editorial decisions)
The journal follows the highest standards of publication ethics and adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
